FindTheBest assists users in doing just that: locating the best options. The site provides a place to compare almost anything. FindTheBest was founded by Kevin O’Connor in May of 2009. The site was intended to help users discover the best options for almost anything. Today, Find the Best is based out of Santa Barbara, California. The team, which consists of around ten individuals, includes O’Connor as the CEO as well as CTO Scott Leonard, COO Brayton Johnson, and board member Randy Komisar.

The FindTheBest website has a very appealing design. A pleasant, deep blue header is accented by a three dimensional road sign containing the site’s name. Top level categories are found on the home page along with the top comparison apps and top Find the Best comparison topics. Users can easily navigate the site and check out existing comparisons or sign up and start one of their own.

Visitors can sign up for a Find the Best account by clicking the white “Register” link in the top right hand corner of the homepage. The registration form is attractive and remains minimal. Users are asked to enter a desired username, email address, and verification code (to prove that the user is a human begin). Users can also choose to login to Find the Best through an existing Facebook, Google, AOL, Yahoo or OpenID account.

Find the Best does not require a subscription fee or other fee from its members. The service is helpful, although it is not something that can’t be done elsewhere. The topic flexibility is a big plus, but more would need to be added to expect users to pay for the service. Find the Best is still in beta, so there may be changes in the future that include a premium paid account. No further information has been provided about feature updates or the addition of a paid membership.
